Minimal Hearing Loss

Minimal Hearing Loss

Minimal Hearing Loss can be described numerically as slight to mild hearing loss (20-35 dB HL thresholds) or verbally as borderline-normal.  People with this degree of hearing loss experience occasional difficulty hearing, particularly in adverse listening environments such as groups, restaurants, lectures  or when vision is obstructed. Its effect can range from barely noticeable to very annoying.

Treatment of borderline-normal hearing loss is determined by the impact it has on the individual.  Factors to consider are family, employment and social interactions.  Even slight occasional hearing difficulties can result in depression, frustration and fatigue. The options are to cope with occasionally asking for repetitions and missing words or be proactive for solutions.

Consulting with a professional about a solution for Minimal Hearing Loss is ideal.  Hearing testing will determine the level and amplification needs.  Starter hearing aids are now available from Auditory Dimensions, LLC.  If you are bothered by occasional hearing difficulty, don’t let emotions escalate.  Solutions are readily available.  Click on links below for further information.
